If you live in jeans or business clothes during the day then updating your outfit for the evening can be a challenge. Here’s how to make the glam look work without going overboard.
Dress for your body type: More important than following the latest fashions is identifying your own body type and knowing what suits it best. As a general rule, pear shapes should emphasise the bust and waist area with outfits that skim over the lower part of the body, while slender figures can create the illusion of curves with a low-cut neckline and jacked-in waist. Petite girls should avoid long evening dresses in favour of shorter cocktail numbers, but if you’re tall then you should be able to pull off one of this season’s stunning floaty maxi dresses.

| Summer’s Hottest Fashion Trend |

The weather might not be able to make up its mind – is summer just around the corner or is winter still trying to hold us in its clutches? – but the fashion world has definitely made some strong decisions about this summer’s trends. Sure to be one of the most popular, thanks not just to summery colours and feminine shapes but also to our love of all things vintage, is the retro 1950s look. Belted waists, capped sleeves, sweetheart and square necklines, midi skirts, pleats, pastel shades, low-heeled strappy sandals and florals – this is a look that just begs to be tried. If you want styling inspiration look no further than Grease, the movie that girls in their twenties and thirties grew up with.

Veronica Moncho Lobo is a London based designer who was born and raised in Salta, Argentina. Salta is a city rich in the arts, with a vast amount of museums, theatres, and art galleries which I feel plays a part in the inspiration of Veronica's unique line. Veronica comes from an artistic family, with her own strong background in Fashion, so with both hand in hand she was always destined to go far. In February 2008 along with her brother Fernando Moncho Lobo, Veronica launched her very own clothing line, and later went on to open a boutique in 2010. Her label is now stocked around the world, in London, New York, Saudi Arabia, to name a few. Ms Moncho Lobo certainly stands out, as she combines her love for couture, with celebrating the arts in timeless yet classic pieces. Her Spring/Summer 2011 collection certainly caught my eye. I instantly fell in awe of this particular piece 'Juliet'.

The daddy of fashion weeks showed no sign of recession this season as the big guns of couture displayed their best on Parisian catwalks this July. Highlights included Elie Saab, wowing with layers upon layers of luxe fabric, texture and sumptuous draping and jewel encrusted gowns. At Dior, Galliano was on top form as usual, creating a tropical storm with striking netted gowns and abstract, enlarged floral prints. Karl Lagerfeld created a winter wonderland at Chanel with padded and quilted fabrics in monochrome blocks lined with fur; and Valentino pitched to the younger customer this season: all frills and bows and exaggerated A-line minis which may surprise their regulars but hopefully not alienate them.
