Veronica Moncho Lobo is a London based designer who was born and raised in Salta, Argentina.
Salta is a city rich in the arts, with a vast amount of museums, theatres, and art galleries which I feel plays a part in the inspiration of Veronica's unique line. Veronica comes from an artistic family, with her own strong background in Fashion, so with both hand in hand she was always destined to go far.  In February 2008 along with her brother Fernando Moncho Lobo, Veronica launched her very own clothing line, and later went on to open a boutique in 2010.  Her label is now stocked around the world, in London, New York, Saudi Arabia, to name a few.  Ms Moncho Lobo certainly stands out, as she combines her love for couture, with celebrating the arts in timeless yet classic pieces.  Her Spring/Summer 2011 collection certainly caught my eye. I instantly fell in awe of this particular piece 'Juliet'.

This cocktail dress is not your typical one, and what makes it so fashion forward is the mere fact that Ms Moncho Lobo has taken old Hollywood glamour, and the current Spring Summer trend: ditsy floral, and fused the two together to create this masterpiece. Although this piece looks floaty and shapeless the clever thing is the cinched in waist, that hugs you to help define your shape, and give a romantically elegant edge.  My favorite part of this piece is the one shoulder style, that has a unique edge by adding anextra strip of material which creates a divided sleeve effect.   I love the use of pastel colours, amethyst shades, dark muted undertones, and ombre tints because it shows how well thought out each design is, and how well Veronica is able to combine fashion and art.

This piece is said to recall Monet's famous garden style, and after somecareful research i can safely say this is the perfect interpretation of it.  You would own any red carpet, and capture the attention of everyone at any event in this dress.  Her Pret-a-Porter line of cocktail dresses are complex-simplicity at its finest, their savvy, elegant and always ready to wear when you are, hence why their part of Veronica's ready to wear line.
