London Fashion Week Prophetik showcase Jeff Garner

Dynamic, authentic must haves ! Vauxhall fashion scout put on a great fashion week with some of the finest potential designers to date. It all kicked off for me with the Prophetik showcase on Friday 19. I was ushered into Freemason’s hall, did a quick interview with the allwalks.org representatives about the new shift and mood in fashion for more authenticity in modelling.
En suite – I plonked myself on a front row seat just as the showcase was about to begin. Designer Jeff Garner dazzled us with Southern US inspired designs.
(1)This versatile long, black dress is absolutely luscious using recyled silk and peace silk lining. The gatherings and shape make good for a winter evening ball. Imagine the mood you’ll create when you turn up for an annual work ball ? Innocent, Southern and slightly Goth….

(2) This off the shoulder teal number with exaggerated jodhpurs and BOOTS was a pleasant surprise !! Boots were a recurrent theme throughout the showcase. The vintage leathers were shipped in from Judy’s tack shop in Franklin, Tennessee and some of the black ones were obtained from a local shop in Portobello Road. Vintage boots, jodhpurs and a nice cropped, military jacket gets direct influences from the American Civil war and can be sported for an upbeat, Autumn trend.

3)This black peace silk T-shirt dress with grey peace silk shash gives a real bounce to a sexy silhouette. The main aspect to this outfit is of course the vintage boots. Coarse, worn out leather pieces are a great contrast to a feminine but, simple dress.

(4) Wow…I love this ! This black peace silk boyfriend jacket with grey jersey dress and grey peace silk necktie is a unique dimension taking us on a mesmerizing journey through Nashville.

(4)This black herringbone jacket, lined with peace silk, a black organic jersey button shirt, blue hemp waistcoat and black hemp trousers is divinely masculine, military, country and layered.

(5) Save the best until last…this red, recycled velvet bustier brightened up the room. The romantic, beautiful flowing line and bold colour is a sumptuous garment bringing out the elegance of femininity.

To sum up…. Jeff Garner’s use of pigment, dyed fabrics meet Global organic textile standards, his collection is soft, layered, practical and innovative. His use of hemp softens the shapes further. The collection is a reflection of his roots and desire for sustainability and simplicity, a sign of our times.
