The Screen Actors Guild awards is another dazzling affair and LA-based red carpet event which we aim to cover annually. Sunday's event had a healthy turnout.
We loved Emmy Rossum's glittering choice, a silver Giorgio Armani strapless top and skirt with an overlay made of crinoline lace and Swarovski crystals, the ensemble shimmered in a subtle but enchanted way. She was adorned with a luxurious diamond necklace (with a luxurious smile to match). This was a superb presentation. Emmy looked regal and svelte.
This singer and song writer is a relative, by marriage of designer Vera Wang (Wang is married to Emmy's cousin). Emmy (short for Emmanuelle) is a youth aids ambassador, a strong supporter of the animal society and often campaigns to help raise breast cancer awareness. Emmy is dating Sam Esmail, director and writer of Comet. Emmy suffers from Celiac disease (highly prevalent in Jewish communities) so always politely refuses gluten infested cupcakes. She recently won the best actress in a comedy series award (Satellite awards) for her role in Shameless.
Our favourite choice on the night however, was Sophia Bush's Vivienne Westwood designed gown. We are so proud of our British designer. Sophia showed off her feminine and petite frame with this gown which comprised of a shaped and draped bodice, lots of gathering and a raunchy thigh-high slit , the bold orange apricot colour is a tricky colour to pull off, Sophia was adorned with Irene Neuwrith jewelry, she wore Stuart Weitzman shoes and held an Eddie Parker clutch bag. She also sported a wavy, unstructured bob which is making a comeback (see Jourdan Dunne's).
Sophia is a woman of many talents who uses her time constructively. She is not only an actress and a director but an avid volleyball player and a Journalist major. Bush has been involved in political campaigns and is a strong supporter of Obama, she tours colleges in the US to encourage young people to get involved in politics she also runs half marathons despite having asthma and knee injuries from volleyball. She was involved in the Global poverty project in 2013.
