It is Red Carpet event season, the season which gets the Fashion Thirst press team brimming with excitement. All of our eyes were on the dresses and collections displayed at the recent Met Gala evening event in New York City. Our attention was drawn by Anne Hathaway; a clear, all time favourite of ours.
Anne wore a throwback 1992 archived, black embellished vintage Valentino dress with dazzling sheer side breasting, accented with feathery, light cuffs and mesh panels. The dress really accentuated her curves (and even a nipple! giggle). Anne clutched her black Lucite Valentino clutch bag. Her makeup was a concoction of smokey eyes and thick noir eyeliner teamed up with nude lips. The yellow nails gave the outfit a punky edge - so daring she could have been mistaken for a Brit but what really got heads turning and tongues wagging was her platinum blond pixie, cropped slick hairstyle. The hairstyle has transformed Anne's look she left us on this night drooling for more.
Swiftly moving on our gaze turned to Uma Thurman who turned up wearing a refined, poison Ivy chartreuse satin mermaid Zac Posen gown; the hourglass silhouette swept the floor in drapes and brought chaos to this spectacular couture exhibition.
Uma sported a Gioielli Efva Attling 'Pap' ring and a stunning bracelet. Her hair was swept back and her pout was blessed with a deep red matte colour. All of these gorgeous outfits kept the Met Ball attendees on their toes. Every time I go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art it is under construction. It's home to the annual New York costume institute Gala - a date for Fashion Thirst's 2014 fashion calendar. We'll see you there!
Now Beyonce the world's eyes have been on you with sheer intensity since your newly acquired role as a 'yummy mummy'. Mummy of Blue Ivy turned up in thigh-high boots and golden gloves. Her leather strapless bustier bodice certainly accentuated her full cleavage. The Edie Parker clutch bag was tightly clasped under her arm. Mrs Carter's high-waist skirt had a long slit running down the side showing off her famous and easily recognisable thighs. The print on the skirt was loud and bold but didn't necessarily resonate with anything punk-like. Sasha Fierce looked far from fierce at the Met Gala - she is in great shape and looking as radiant as ever. More Bambi Ivy than fierce Punk.
