Russel Simons at the Marc Jacob event

Marc Jacobs kick started a series called Music Marc Concert Series on their Melrose boutique in Los Angeles, California.

In celebration of the series, they partnered with an emerging electronic and R&B group called BC Kingdom.  The duet represents a rising duo that hail from Inglewood, CA.  Mr Logan and Mr. Christopher Zou Deon attribute their unique sound to a combination of rock ‘n’ roll, pop and soul.  Now you may be wondering what Marc Jacobs has in common with an Electronic/R&B group from California and it goes back to the commonality between Jacobs and the group’s mutual interests of popular street culture infused with music and fashion.  “Marc Jacobs has always represented the progression of youth culture as well as highlighting his infatuation with the street, and his brand has influenced music and fashion,” said Logan.

The group debuted their new tracks from their album BuckWildNite. Songs like “Hype Williams” have been named after the music video director that frequently works with Kanye West, Missy Elliot, Pharell Williams and Jamie Foxx to name a few.  The group wants to speak on popular culture and this song in particular discusses the millennial fascination of narcissistic behaviours and perfectionist tendencies.

The crowd at the event brought all out people from various industries, truly showing how the event reaches and represents more than just fashion and image. The message behind the event enticed fashion models, music critics, artists of all kind and most important of all lovers of BC Kingdom.
